Recovery achieved

The last week has been a bit strange. Last weekend was good – the folks and I went out and spent money, in a way we haven’t been able to in a long time. I got myself a mini notebook, to make writing on the train easier. I don’t have to lug my iBook to work any more!

I was feeling somewhat better by Monday, and I was all out of sick time, so I worked from home all week. It wasn’t easy – I was still recovering, still very drained. The hardest part was trying to do anything else, like writing the Apocalypse Blog posts. I struggled with them, though I ended up pleased with a couple. I got some good feedback on them, which made me happy. This is what keeps me writing when it gets difficult.

I have set up yWriter on the notebook to manage the AB posts. Its structure works really well for it, and it’s reassuringly anal about its backup policy. I’m liking it so far.

I got the all-clear from the doctor on Friday – my lungs don’t crackle when I breathe any more and the pneumonia seems to be all gone. Still getting strength back, but I’m well enough to go to work tomorrow. So I shall be testing the notebook train-writing, providing I am awake enough.

Wheee. Time to get back to normal. This month’s writing group meeting had to be postponed to this Friday. I wonder what else I have to catch up with.
