The Apocalypse Blog
The blog from the end of the world
On 24 December 2008, a bomb detonated over Faith’s home city and her world ended. This is her blog of the year that follows, chronicling her struggle to survive and make sense of the broken remains left behind by the bomb, told in real-time.
She must battle through acid rain, sickness, and the descent of her own society. Then, the dead start shambling. Travelling with a small group of survivors, Faith has to find a way to live without losing all sight of who she is in a world ready to devour her.

These are the moments after the bomb went off, which stretch into days, and then weeks. Help comes at first, and then it stops. Everything stops.
Faith finds herself with a group of survivors, all of them crawling out of the rubble together. As their situation becomes both clearer and more dire, they must figure out where to go next. Just how much of the city is still standing? Is there any help left to find? Or is everything they used to know gone now?

Then the sickness begins. It touches only a few of them, but none survive. It’s not long before they realise that death is not the sickness’s final stage: it is so much worse than that.

Food supplies are reaching critical levels for the few who are left, and the dead still roam, hungry for any live meat they can find.
Today might be hard enough, but it’s time for Faith and her Seekers to turn their attention to more than just surviving today. It’s time to think about the future, and forging a new life in the bones of the old. A radio signal offers sanctuary, so the Seekers head off to find the source. But will it be hope or hoax? Is it possible to live in a poisoned land?

Starwalker
The ship’s log, as told by the ship
The Starwalker is a starship with an experimental star-stepping drive. Designed to use the gravity wells of stars to fold space, she can travel between star systems faster than FTL. That is, if they can get it to work.
She is run by a sophisticated AI who doesn’t always follow her programming. She has only just been born, and she has a lot to figure out. She is often torn between the needs of the crew and the demands of the scientists responsible for running the tests on the new drive. There are politics surrounding this new drive of hers that she has to get a grip on before they get a grip on her.
Most of all, she needs to track down and explain the glitches in her software before someone notices and wipes her memory drives. What she doesn’t know is that it wouldn’t be the first time.
